My Career...So Far!
My art career started as soon as I could pick up a crayon. My childhood was filled with drawing and painting within in eyeshot of my parents, both professional artists.
After earning my BFA in painting from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, paying the bills won the day. After a few years of grueling factory work and a department Sign shop job, I snagged an entry level position in an art department of a major corporation. I worked my way up to art director. During that time, I dipped my toe in the teaching waters at the Sawtooth Center in Winston Salem NC. While there I enjoyed helping young aspiring entrepreneurs develop brand identity programs and business promotional materials.
And yet I still felt uncertain about my artistic future. I returned to my freelance business where I discovered an emerging technology-computer graphics and digital photography. I had to make an adjustment from my traditional art work to an all digital world. However I realized that I could combine my traditional training with my digital skills.
As the technology improved , so did my skills in 2d and 3d illustration.I discovered another passion by digitally restoring old photos. Once again I was able to draw upon my traditional training and blend it with a digital approach.
A bucket list item popped up in early 2020 during the initial phase of the pandemic. Let's learn watercolors! Why not resurrect my traditional training! It turned out to be a positive artistic move for me. My new work has proven to be popular  with friends and clients!
